Aston Villa news: Decision reportedly made on Garde future, Shearer slams Agbonlahor

Carlo Ancelotti with Remi Garde

Sunday morning's Aston Villa stories after another Premier League thrashing.

A definitive decision has been made about Remi Garde's Aston Villa future, according to the Sunday People.

Indeed, Garde is said to definitely be leaving the club at the end of the season.

The People report that the Frenchman's position is under review and that he could be dismissed by the Midlands outfit - who look set to be relegated from the Premier League.

But their report also suggests Garde will walk if he isn't pushed, as he is aware his reputation is taking a 'fearful beating.'

Meanwhile, Alan Shearer has slammed Gabriel Agbonlahor for his lack of effort on Match of the Day.

Shearer told the BBC on Saturday night: "Look at Agbonlahor, what is he doing? They’ve accepted relegation. They’ve got to give it a go. But it looks like they’ve already thrown the towel in."

The fact Agbonlahor is even playing for Villa right now demonstrates their lack of quality and options.

The 29-year-old was widely panned for his poor form earlier this season and subsequently fell down the pecking order, with fitness issues also affecting him.

But Aston Villa needed Agbonlahor to return due to the fact they simply have no one better at the club.
