Wolverhampton Wanderers' 2-1 win over Derby County last weekend provided hope for a side struggling for form and lacking in morale.
Fans thought this could be a turning point for Kenny Jackett's men, raising performance levels overall if not results.
Wolves' performance, however, was a very disappointing one. It was a game that leaves them on 43 points, 14th before Saturday's games and with just two wins in their last 10 and one in nine...
And supporters were particularly critical of forward Bjorn Sigurdarson on Twitter during and after the defeat. Indeed, there is bewilderment at Jackett not picking Joe Mason or Adam Le Fondre against Middlesbrough, especially when Sigurdarson ended up putting in the display he did...
Here's how Wolves fans reacted on Twitter to the 25-year-old's performance v Middlesbrough:
No idea why Mason doesn't start. Head and shoulders above the overrated Sigurdarson #wwfc— Sam Fleming (@Wolvensam) March 4, 2016
Why Kenny Jackett starts Sigurdarson over 3.5 million Joe Mason and Adam Le Fondre is beyond me, and most Wolves fans I'd imagine. #WWFC— Luke Fry (@FourTwoFryOne) March 4, 2016
Sigurdarson looked quite promising when Solbakken first brought him in, what has happened to him in the 3+ yrs since God only knows. #wwfc— Andy D (@AnnoDomini79) March 4, 2016
I would love to know what goes through the head of Kenny Jackett when he picks Sigurdarson over Joe Mason #wwfc— Aaron Walker (@Gallagherlad95) March 4, 2016
Sigurdarson just had the widest shot in association football history. #wwfc— Darb (@Darb1983) March 4, 2016
