Aston Villa icon Ian Taylor took to Twitter in rage as Manchester City beat the Midlands outfit 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Indeed, Taylor feels seeing Villa struggle is like Groundhog Day...
Meanwhile, former Manchester City midfielder Trevor Sinclair was shocked at just how bad Aston Villa were, joking that we should 'pray for Villa' on social media.
One can assume, however, that he doesn't watch Villa all that much - as this really was no surprise.
It was a quick second-half collapse that did it for Remi Garde's men and Manchester City can pursue a place in the top four after bouncing back from their 3-0 loss at Liverpool.
The irony for Aston Villa is that those around them are struggling. If the players put one iota of effort in, they would see nine points off safety isn't insurmountable. The way they are playing (or not playing), though, it certainly is.
