The Scottish international has been in great form this season.
Sheffield Wednesday take on Rotherham United in a crunch South Yorkshire derby this weekend and will be hopeful of picking up yet another good result in the game.
The Owls are pushing for promotion this season and a large part of their success has been down to the performances of Scottish midfielder Barry Bannan.
Wednesday first signed him up on a one-year deal in the summer but he has since gone on to sign an extension to that deal after excelling at Hillsborough.
Bannan told The Sun this week:
“At previous clubs I’ve been in and out but since I’ve come here I’ve played nearly every game. I’m not used to that confidence from the manager – now he’s got me playing the best football of my career.
"This is the happiest I’ve been and long may it continue.”
The Owls boss has certainly been a popular figure at Wednesday this season - despite many sceptics in the summer.
The consistent performances he has induced from Bannan is just one excellent example of how he has turned Wednesday into serious promotion contenders.
Hopefully Bannan can continue to thrive this season and guide himself and Wednesday back to the top-flight.
