Newcastle will take on Bournemouth at home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Gray has backed Steve McClaren’s side to pick up all three points from the encounter at St. James’ Park.
“If Newcastle lose, Steve McClaren is out of his job,” the former Scotland international wrote on Paddypower.com.
“I’m expecting 55,000 Geordies to be bellowing their lungs out in support of the Toon Army. Bournemouth were impressive against Southampton, but they won’t repeat the feat.”
A footnote added: “Andy’s bet: Newcastle win at 8/5.”
Well-known sports presenter Richard Keys believes that Bournemouth will win 2-0 against Newcastle.
“McClaren always said his expectation was to keep Newcastle in the Premier League but I am not sure he can do that now,” Keys wrote on Sport360.com.
“I really think they are teetering on the brink and Bournemouth are better organised and have a much healthier attitude. 0-2.”
Newcastle are in terrible form at the moment and are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Magpies will head into the game against Bournemouth on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Stoke City away from home at the Britannia Stadium.
McClaren’s side are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 24 points from 27 matches.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth currently find themselves 15th in the standings with 32 points from 28 matches.
The Cherries are eight points above the bottom three and will head into the game against Newcastle on the back of a 2-0 victory over Southampton at the Vitality Stadium.
