Report: Newcastle squad have made their feelings on Steve McClaren perfectly clear

And the Magpies' senior players have even gone as far as setting up separate recovery sessions...

Newcastle United's players expect Steve McClaren to be dismissed if their side lose to Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend, according to the Daily Mail.

Indeed, Newcastle's senior players are said to be in shock the former England boss is still in charge at St James' Park.

And their lack of trust in McClaren is reportedly so great that they have even set up separate recovery sessions in training away from their manager.

As such, the Mail report that the squad - and especially the club's senior players - are expecting McClaren to be sacked should Bournemouth win on Tyneside this weekend.

If Bournemouth do beat Newcastle, of course, they will open up an 11-point lead over the Magpies.

If Swansea also win at the weekend, meanwhile, it will take Newcastle to nine points off 16th.

The St James' Park outfit have been here before, going down in 2009 only to bounce straight back and earn promotion from the Championship the very next season.
