If Manchester City replace Joe Hart then Everton should swoop for England's number one

Manuel Neuer is reportedly on City's transfer shortlist for the summer.

This morning has seen big reports regarding the future of Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The Mirror are reporting that Manchester City are open to replacing the player, with Pep Guardiola not keen on the stopper.

The Spaniard is instead hoping to sign his Bayern Munich goalie Manuel Neuer. The report claims that City are willing to pay Neuer £300k-a-week in order to bring him to The Etihad.

If that did prove the case then it would be the perfect opportunity for Everton to make a move for Hart?

Most of Europe's mega clubs are settled in the goalkeeping department and the Premier League contenders are also well covered.

Everton however need a new stopper with Tim Howard out of form and seemingly on his way out of the club.

The Toffees recently received a potential financial boost in the transfer market and a move for Hart would be a massive signal of intent for the future from the club.

Everton need a top-class goalkeeper and Hart would surely consider the move. Goodison Park would not mean a big relocation for the player and he would be the regular number one, which would not be the case if City did sign Neuer.

Hart is exactly the sort of signing Everton need to make if they are to take the next step and push on into the elite.

If he becomes available, then Everton would be mad not to swoop.
