Slaven Bilic’s side invested heavily last summer, and they have been rewarded for their ambition this season.
The Hammers are currently just one point off the top-four spaces, and Carrroll is loving playing in a team with si much quality in every position.
“It’s great to fight for your position,” he said. “Everybody, from Daz [Darren Randolph], he’s a fantastic keeper, you can see when he’s played in the cup. He’s great, it goes all the way through the squad.”
Randolph has had to play second fiddle to Adrian so far this season, with the Spanish stopper proving his class on regular occasions.
Although Randolph has proven to be reliable when called upon, Adrian’s place in West Ham’s starting line-up does not appear to be under too much threat.
Carroll, himself, has missed out on playing regularly due to the quality in the Hammers’ squad.
The England international has to compete with the likes of Diafra Sakho, Emmanuel Emenike and Enner Valencia up-front.
As a result of this competition, and a series of injuries, the 27-year-old has only been able to make 17 appearances in the Premier League to date.
