Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 1-0 by West Ham United yesterday evening.
Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been left disappointed by Nacer Chadli’s performance against West Ham United last night.
Spurs were beaten 1-0 by the Hammers at Upton Park, with Michail Antonio scoring the only goal of the match.
Antonio beat Chadli to a header from a corner, and the Belgian’s display fell short of the standard required.
For much of the season so far, Chadli has been utilised as an impact substitute, but he was handed a start last night.
Mauricio Pochettino’s gamble did not pay off, however, as the 26-year-old’s touch was heavy and his passing was poor.
Spurs fans have made no secret of their frustrations at the wide-man’s display, although they were keen not to be too critical of the side after such a good season so far.
Chadli should only ever come off the bench. Simply not good enough to start. Lamela's lack of end product is also a big issue. #thfc— Sean (@Tottingham_Sean) March 3, 2016
On this occasion rotation did not work. Lamela, Chadli, Trippier and Davies all below par today. #thfc— Aaron Robinson (@Big_RobzTHFC) March 2, 2016
@WindyCOYS one decision I've questioned of Poch through the whole season is Chadli. He might score important goals but he's bad often.— Pedro Hotspur (@One_Club_THFC) March 2, 2016
Huge chance missed. Spurs incredibly poor but hopefully nothing more than an off day. Mason&Chadli are still far from starting players.#thfc— M.A. Lindberg (@LindbergMA) March 2, 2016
Was never a good idea to start Chadli. Can't believe so many had him in their starting Xi. Far too casual for a game like this.— Pedro Hotspur (@One_Club_THFC) March 2, 2016
Nacer Chadli is a B+ player.— Steven. (@StevenLDN) March 3, 2016
Chadli: good when you've got a team soaking up pressure and you need his budget-raumdeuter productivity, bad starting against good sides.— Mac (@BillyMacfarlane) March 3, 2016
Tottenham’s defeat has ended their unbeaten away record, which has lasted since the opening day of the season.
Spurs are now three points away from Leicester City at the top of the league, and their next fixture comes against Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
