The former Tottenham manager believes that Lloris is the best goalkeeper in the Premier League.
Sherwood, who has managed Aston Villa as well, has also described the France international as the ultimate professional.
“The goalie is the best in the league,” the Englishman told talkSPORT. “Sometimes you won’t even know he is there in training, he just gets on with his job.
“He is the ultimate professional. If you are a young goalie, you look up to him and the way he applies himself.
“When the boys look at him in the dressing room - he’s not a ranter or raver, he just leads by example. They look at him at think he is a calming influence.”
Lloris has been on the books of Tottenham since 2012 and is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old is very consistent and has a very calming influence inside his own penalty area.
The France international is arguably the only world-class player in the current Tottenham squad, and from Sherwood’s comments, it seems that he is a leader as well.
Tottenham have been defensively superb this campaign, and one of the main reasons for that is Lloris.
For Spurs to go and win the Premier League title this season, the former Lyon star will have to maintain his current level.
Lloris is not without his flaws, though, and he should have done better for Michail Antonio’s goal for West Ham United in the Premier League game at the Boleyn Ground on Wednesday evening.
Former Leeds United midfielder Danny Mills was following the match, and he said on BBC Radio 5 live: "There was nobody defending the post for Tottenham.
“It drives me insane. It was a strong header from Antonio, but I think the keeper should do better at his near post. Lloris shouldn't be letting that in."
