Swansea City supporters have praised the performance of Leroy Fer, during their 2-1 victory against Arsenal at the Emirates yesterday evening.
Fer joined Swansea from Queens Park Rangers during the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old’s only appearance for the Welsh club so far came as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur, but he was handed a more prominent role last night.
Fer started in central-midfielder in North London, and his performance caught the eye of the Swans supporters.
The Dutchman was composed in possession, and dynamic going forward as Francesco Guidolin’s side picked up an unexpected three points.
Swansea fell behind in the early stages when Joel Campbell hit the back of the net for the Gunners, but they hit back through Wayne Routledge and Ashley Williams to secure the three points.
The victory has lifted them clear of the drop zone, and put Arsenal’s title hopes in tatters.
Most of Swansea’s squad were, understandably, picking up praise on Twitter - but Fer’s display attracted more attention than most. Here is the best reaction.
I don't know what it is about Leroy Fer, but I just get the impression that he really wants to play for us.— Josh Kilmister (@joshkilmister) March 2, 2016
Can we mention how bloody good Leroy Fer was during his time on the pitch? Played his socks off.— Percy Miracles (@Scott77Abe) March 2, 2016
