As if Spurs needed any more of a reason to despise the former England international....
White Hart Lane plays host on Saturday as both Premier League sides clash in what is arguably the most highly-anticipated North London derby in years, given what is at stake.
The contest might well help decide where the league title ends up come May, with Arsene Wenger's side third in the table, three points behind Spurs and six adrift of Leicester City.
Defeat is certainly not an option for the Gunners, but club legend Campbell, who made a controversial Bosman move to Arsenal from Tottenham in 2001, says that Wenger's men are "superior" in comments that are sure to irk the Lilywhites' fans.
“If you’re looking at quality of football then Arsenal’s quality of football has been superior," he said in an interview with 888 Sport.
"You have to look at it over five to ten years to see how consistent they are and Tottenham have really come into their own this season. They have improved but let’s see after five seasons.”
Campbell helped Arsenal to two Premier League titles during a successful five-year stint at their former home Highbury, also winning three FA Cup crowns and a runners-up medal in the Champions League.
The club has never finished lower than fourth during Wenger's 19-and-a-half year spell in North London, nor have they finished below Tottenham in this time, but Spurs fans will be confident of ending that hoodoo this season.
