Aston Villa were beaten 3-1 by Everton in their most recent outing.
Remi Garde says that he has stressed the importance of sticking together to his Aston Villa squad, after their defeat to Everton.
Villa were beaten 3-1 by the Toffees in their most recent outing, as they collapsed to yet another defeat.
The Claret and Blues’ performance was well short of the standard required to win matches at the top level, but Garde insists that his team need to remain united.
"I said to them that in difficult situations like this one we have to stick all together," Garde said to the club's official website.
"This is the first thing we have to do - and if we don't do this, we have no chance.
"It's already very difficult outside the changing room and I don't want anyone in the group to add problems within us. We will stick together and look to win the next game.”
Villa’s character looks set to be tested over the coming weeks, as they are surely just playing for pride now.
The Midlands club appear destined to be relegated, as they have a nine point gap to safety to make up with just 10 games to play.
Villa have won just three games all season, and only an unprecedented turnaround would keep them in the top flight.
Garde’s men have so far shown a lack of fight in their battle against the drop, but their fixture list does not get any easier for them.
Villa’s next match comes against Manchester City on Saturday, and it would be a major upset if they were able to take any points from the Etihad Stadium.
