Rangers midfielder has a strong message for Celtic

Rangers could face Old Firm rivals Celtic in the latter rounds of the Scottish Cup this season.

Rangers midfielder Nicky Law has told Herald Scotland that he and his teammates are not scared to face Celtic in the Scottish Cup this season.

Both Rangers and Celtic are still in the prestigious cup competition and could face each other in the latter rounds.

While the Gers will take on Dundee at Ibrox in Glasgow in the quarter-finals on Saturday afternoon, the Bhoys will face Greenock Morton at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon.

Law, who has been on the books of Rangers since 2013, believes that he and his teammates will be able to give Celtic a run for their money this term.

“Going into that game last season (against Celtic in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup), we were managerless and there were so many other things going on at the time,” Law told Herald Scotland. “It was difficult and we were poor on the day.

“This time, we would put up a better display and push them a lot more than we did the last time.”

Rangers are going strong in the Scottish Championship at the moment and are likely to get automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership at the end of the season.

The Gers have a stronger team this season than they had during the 2014-15 campaign.

Celtic have the best squad in Scotland, but Ronny Deila’s side are not in the best of forms at the moment.
