Arsenal lost against Swansea City in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has told BT Sport that he feels that he has been conned by Arsenal.

The former United midfielder made the comments following the Gunners’ 2-1 defeat to Swansea City at home on Wednesday evening.

Given that the Swans are fighting for survival in the Premier League, Arsenal were expected to win.

However, the North London outfit failed to pick up even a single point from the league game.

The result means that Arsenal are now third in the Premier League table with 51 points from 28 matches, six points behind leaders Leicester City.

Scholes has admitted his disappointed with the Gunners’ recent performances.

“This season, I think I was a little bit conned by Arsenal,” the former England international told BT Sport. “I thought this year they added a little bit of steel with Cech and Ozil was really coming into his own.

"I had a slight feeling that they might go on to win it, but once again they have disappointed.”

Arsenal’s recent results have been poor, but they still do remain in the hunt for the Premier League title.

The Gunners have some good players, and they need to step up their game and add consistency to their game.

Wenger’s side will take on North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur away from home at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
