Michail Antonio has told West Ham United’s official site that Upton Park is really starting to feel like his home now.
The powerful wide-man scored the winner as the Hammers beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 last night.
The goal as Antonio’s fourth in his last four home matches, and the summer signing from Nottingham Forest says that he is feeling totally comfortable at the London club now.
“It is nice to make it four goals in my last four games – this really feels like home to me,” Antonio enthused.
“As soon as the ball was played over I was thinking this ball is heading right for me and I didn't even see it go in.”
Antonio actually had to be patient to receive an opportunity at West Ham, but he has made up for lost time now.
Since breaking into the Hammers’ first-team, Antonio has not looked back and he has performed to a high level in every match.
The 25-year-old has netted five goals in 16 Premier League appearances, and he has now forced his way into Slaven Bilic’s starting line-up.
Antonio was actually made to play at full-back during the Hammers match against Tottenham, but he still proved his class.
West Ham’s win over their London rivals has lifted them up to sixth in the Premier League table, and they are now just one point away from the Champions League qualification spaces.
