Isak Ssewankambo has thanked Derby County for providing him an opportunity in English football, after completing a move to Molde earlier today.
The 20-year-old moved to the iPro Stadium from NAC Breda in January 2015, but he has failed to make much of impact with the Championship side.
Ssewankambo’s only appearance for the Rams came in the League Cup earlier in the season against Portsmouth.
The youngster started in defence for that match, but after Derby lost to the League Two side he was never seen again.
Ssewankambo does not seem to bear any grudges towards the Rams, despite a lack of first-team experience, though.
I want to start by saying thank you for everything and to everyone that has been supporting me during my time in Derby County FC.— Isak Ssewankambo (@Ssewankambo30) March 3, 2016
Unfortunately things didn't work out the way we planned and I am today announcing my transfer to my new club.— Isak Ssewankambo (@Ssewankambo30) March 3, 2016
I send my best regards to all the staff, all teammates and of course to all the fantastic supporters for Derby County FC.— Isak Ssewankambo (@Ssewankambo30) March 3, 2016
Thank you #DCFC
Ssewankambo joins Molde for an undisclosed fee, and he will hope to have a more productive time in Norway.
Molde are managed by Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, and he joins the club just in time for their new season.
The Swedish youth international could make his debut for his new club in their first match against Tromso in two weekends’ time.
