Harry Redknapp says QPR would struggle to loan a player like Ruben Loftus-Cheek because of his high wages, according to his regular column in the London Evening Standard.
Indeed, the former R's coach believes Chelsea will be 'stuck' with the youngster even if he's not playing for the club's first team.
And Redknapp told the Standard: "If you are Queens Park Rangers, you ring up and say, 'Can we loan him?' Chelsea would say, 'Yeah, he’s on £60k a week.' 'Oh, we can only pay him £10k.' 'Right, who’s going to pay the other £50k?'
"He would be stuck at Chelsea and they would be stuck with him."
The situation sums up Chelsea's approach with a number of different youngsters, as the Blues' academy no doubt holds a number of untapped talents - and several the watching world is aware of.
QPR, meanwhile, travel to MK Dons in the Championship this weekend as they look to make it two wins in a row - a rare feat for the club in recent times.
The R's have plenty of young players of their own but Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will no doubt need a squad revamp in the summer, with several that aren't up to standard needing to leave Loftus Road ahead of next season.
