Faustino Asprilla reacts on Twitter to Newcastle loss, pundits slam McClaren's risk

Newcastle United lost again on Wednesday night - is anyone surprised...?

Faustino Asprilla was once again left frustrated by Newcastle United on Twitter after their 1-0 loss at Stoke City on Wednesday night.

The former Newcastle man has already made his anti-Steve McClaren stance clear and he once again joked about the manager on Twitter after the Stoke defeat.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundits Charlie Nicholas and Phil Thompson have slammed McClaren's choice of Jonjo Shelvey as the club's new captain.

Nicholas is quoted as telling Sky by the Chronicle: "It’s a major risk. He’s never been a captain before - that’s a problem. He might react the right way."

And Thompson said: "He’s saying: ‘The rest of you haven’t got the character so I’ll pick Jonjo’. Hopefully he does it in the right way but Jonjo but could go the other way and literally launch into a few players and get into some trouble. He’s a good player but..."

As ever, Newcastle fans might be even more worried by McClaren's comments than anything else. After the Stoke loss, McClaren said it was 'lucky' the Magpies don't play Jack Butland every week.

They don't - is that why they lose even more convincingly to most other teams?

Butland didn't even make that many saves and it once again sums up that Newcastle boss McClaren doesn't actually have the first clue about what he's doing. The Newcastle hierarchy are obviously banking on three other Premier League teams being worse than them. Aston Villa are; Norwich City could be. But who else?
