BBC pundit reacts on Twitter to Chris Brunt injury, sends midfielder message

The West Brom skipper will sadly be out for six months.

BBC pundit Kevin Kilbane says he is gutted for West Brom captain Chris Brunt after it was announced he'll be out for six months following knee surgery.

And Kilbane sent the 31-year-old a kind message on Twitter after the news broke:

Brunt suffered more than most when West Brom lost 3-1 at Reading in the FA Cup, with a fan throwing a coin at him as he approached the away end at full-time.

All credit to Tony Pulis and his side for their reaction to that loss. Since then, the Baggies have beaten Crystal Palace 3-2 and earned a very creditable 2-2 draw at Premier League leaders Leicester City.

For Brunt, however, injury misery has not only ended his club season but ruined his chances of going to Euro 2016. A blow like that is very difficult to comprehend for anyone and West Brom fans will have a huge role to play in lifting the skipper when he returns to action next campaign.

En masse, the response to the coin-throwing incident was very positive from the Baggies faithful. Now Brunt faces another big challenge in his career.
