Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Gabriel Paulista's performance

Arsene Wenger Casual

Arsenal suffered a disappointing defeat to Swansea City.

Arsenal suffered a demoralising defeat to Swansea City last night, failing to take advantage of slip ups from Tottenham and Leicester City in the title race.

The Gunners were once again lacklustre in front of a nervous crowd, and defended poorly.

The back four was caught out of position for the first goal as Wayne Routledge took advantage to score, while the centre-backs were missing in action as Ashley Williams bundled home a winner.

Laurent Koscielny had picked up an injury ahead of the game meaning Gabriel Paulista and Per Mertesacker started in defence, and the Brazilian continued his indifferent form, following on from a poor display against Manchester United in the 3-2 loss at Old Trafford.

Gabriel had been seen as a solution by some fans for Mertesacker's lack of pace, but his recent displays show he is just as much of a problem, rather than the answer.

To his credit he made more tackles than the rest of the defence combined (5) and was strong in possession, completing 91 per cent of his passes, but at crucial moments he was found as wanting as the rest of the back four.

Here is a look at how fans reacted to his performance...
