West Ham United tweet picture that fans will love

The Irons' number 15 looks set to return against Spurs.

West Ham United have intimated that striker Diafra Sakho is set for a long-awaited return to the squad for tonight's visit of Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old hitman has been sidelined since November with a thigh injury, having netted five times for the Hammers this season up to that point.

West Ham's co-chairman David Gold recently announced that he was 'very hopeful' of seeing Sakho back in action for tonight's London derby.

And the Irons' official Twitter account has suggested that the Senegalese - who scored 10 times in 20 Premier League starts last season - is indeed back in Slaven Bilic's squad for this evening.

How West Ham fans would love to see Sakho mark his return in goalscoring fashion, though having spent so long out injured, the forward is unlikely to be risked from the start.

Victory tonight could see Bilic's men close in on Manchester City - who face Liverpool away - in the race for the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot.

And Sakho's return could just coincide with a big push to secure Europa League football at a minimum as the Premier League season comes into the final stretch.
