Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Niall Quinn explained on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Monday morning (February 29) what has impressed him the most about Tottenham Hotspur this season.
“I haven’t seen a team ethic in a Tottenham team coming into football in ages,” said Quinn.
“Great individuals, but the ethic, the team work and the ability they have to get the ball back as quickly as possible, Pochettino deserves great praise for bringing that into the club," added the former Sunderland star.
Tottenham are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 54 points from 27 matches.
The North London outfit are just three points behind leaders Leicester City, and will go level on points with the Foxes if they win the London derby against West Ham United this evening.
Spurs have been arguably the most consistent team in the Premier League this campaign and have also been arguably the best side to watch.
What head coach Mauricio Pochettino has done is assemble a group of players who fit his philosophy and convinced them to play for the good of the team.
Tottenham may not have the strongest squad in the Premier League - on paper, Manchester City and Chelsea have better footballers - but the team ethic and the work rate of the players is something that the fans can be proud of.
