Roberto Martinez has described Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori as an ‘infectious winner’, after the Argentine put in another brilliant display to help his side beat Aston Villa yesterday evening.
Funes Mori set Everton on their to a 3-1 way to victory at Villa Park, when he scored early on in the contest.
It was the defender’s fourth goal over his first season in England, and Martinez has spoken highly of the 24-year-old after the match.
RM: "Funes Mori has adapted so quickly to the English game - it has been very impressive. He's an infectious winner." #VILvEFC— Everton (@Everton) March 1, 2016
Everton’s win over Villa was very comfortable, and it further highlighted the quality that they have in their squad.
The Claret and Blues were powerless to resist, as the Toffees carved them open time and time again.
After Funes Mori opened the scoring, both Aaron Lennon and Romelu Lukaku hit the back of the net before the hour mark.
Rudy Gestede did score a late goal to deny the Merseyside club a clean-sheet, but it was certainly a very positive night for Martinez’s men.
Everton have now moved up to 10th in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against West Ham United at the weekend.
