According to The Sun, Beijing Guoan are interested in buying Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.
The report claims that the Chinese side made contact with Zaha’s representatives during the January transfer window and are now eyeing a potential £15 million swoop in the summer.
The Chinese Super League has been boosted significantly by the injection of big financial inputs and a number of leading stars are now heading to Asia with financial gains a real incentive.
The likes of Eziquel Lavezzi, Ramires, Jackson Martinez and former Liverpool target Alex Teixeira have all moved to China in recent months and Zaha could join them in the summer.
The England international came through the ranks at Palace before moving to Manchester United, only to move back to Selhurst Park following a disappointing short stint at Old Trafford.
Zaha has been a key figure for Alan Pardew’s men this season, making 26 Premier League appearances.
However, his output of just two goals and one assist is way below what is expected of the winger and his poor form has largely coincided with Palace’s winless league run stretching back to last year.
The Eagles will be reluctant to sell the 23-year-old, though the pull of China is only getting stronger and the club may end up facing a difficult task of holding on to him even if Premier League football is assured.
