When asked if Benteke will be leaving, Parlour said: “Yeah, it looks that way. He doesn’t fit into Jurgen Klopp’s plans, and I’m sure if he did move on, he will fit in perfectly for some clubs.”
Parlour expects Benteke to leave this summer, with the striker failing to fit into the tactical set-up of Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp tried to utilise Benteke in his early spell at Anfield, but he seems to have given up on the Belgian international, knowing that he has better options to call upon.
Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge have performed well, and Divock Origi has even risen ahead of Benteke in Klopp’s pecking order recently. With Danny Ings on the sidelines, it is clear that Benteke will not be needed heading into next season.
Benteke only arrived on Merseyside in the summer, and it is likely that there will be clubs who want to sign the striker.
He has proven his goalscoring abilities with Aston Villa, and he would be a great signing for a side who play a style of football which plays to his strengths.
However, due to his failures at Liverpool, the Reds will struggle to make back much of the £32.5 million fee they paid for him last summer.
