Michael Owen outlines what he expects from Liverpool v Manchester City

Liverpool will face Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

Michael Owen has explained on Betvictor.com what he expects from the game between Liverpool and Manchester City.

Liverpool will take on City at Anfield in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

The two sides met each other only on Sunday evening in the League Cup final at London’s Wembley Stadium. It proved to be a very entertaining game, with the Citizens winning on penalties.

Owen believes that Wednesday evening’s game at Anfield is also going to be a thrilling one. The former Liverpool striker has also backed the two teams to score in the encounter.

“City haven’t won in their last 12 PL trips to Anfield although they will be buoyed by their Capital One Cup success over the Reds on Sunday,” the former Manchester United striker wrote on Betvictor.com.

“A draw might not suit either side and I expect to see an entertaining game with plenty of chances and goals.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Both Teams To Score at 3/4.”

City need to pick up all three points from the encounter at Anfield in order to maintain their challenge for the Premier League title this campaign.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are currently fourth in the standings, and that is a reflection of their disappointing league form for most of the season.

Given the squad that the Citizens have, they should be doing much better, although one must also knowledge the injuries that they have suffered this term.

Liverpool’s top-four chances are gone, but they are still in contention of an Europa League spot.
