Spurs will move to the top of the Premier League table if they are able to beat West Ham United at the Boleyn Ground later this evening.
But Pochettino insists that, even if his side fall away this term, now is just the start of what is going to be a great time to be a Tottenham fan.
"The potential is massive for the future," the Argentine boss said. "This season we start to create a basis for the future of the club. We are in the beginning of a great period for the future of the club.
“I believe in them. I show I believe in them from the beginning of the season. Today it is easy to believe.
"The most important thing was to believe from pre-season. That’s the reason they behave like this today.”
When Pochettino took charge at White Hart Lane, back in 2014, the side seemed to be going on a backwards spiral.
However, the Lilywhites’ squad is now one of the most vibrant in the Premier League - and they have been hugely successful this term.
Tottenham have lost just two of their last 26 league matches, and many of their squad still have their best years ahead of them.
The likes of Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane all still have plenty of development left in them, given their tender years.
And, with a move to a new stadium on the horizon, Tottenham’s future certainly looks very bright.
