Everton secured a 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Tuesday evening, moving into the top half of the table.
Ramiro Funes Mori opened the scoring early in the game, before Aaron Lennon doubled the lead before the end of the first-half.
The Toffees did not play that well, although they were against a very poor Aston Villa side, and Romelu Lukaku scored in the second half to clinch the win - even though Rudy Gestede pulled one back for Villa towards the end of the game.
Lukaku has been in something of a poor run of form for Everton in recent weeks, scoring just twice in the Premier League in 2016.
Having netted 15 times in a very good start to the season, Lukaku had carried Everton for much of the campaign, and he can be forgiven for his recent struggles.
However, he scored against Villa to double his tally in 2016, and break a Premier League record for the Toffees.
His 17th league strike of the season is the highest ever tally by an Everton striker in the Premier League, breaking the previous record set by both Tony Cottee and Andrei Kanchelskis.
Following the game, ex-Premier League star Mario Melchiot reacted on Twitter to Lukaku’s goalscoring feat, sending a message to the Belgian international.
