Rangers youngster Liam Burt has told a Twitter Q&A session that he only has plans to sign a new contract, rather than move anywhere else.
Yes – I have no interest in going anywhere else. I am happy here and there is a pathway to the first team https://t.co/24AVgpawlo— Rangers Youth DC (@rfc_rydc) March 2, 2016
Burt made his debut for the Gers on Tuesday evening, following up two appearances on the substitutes bench to feature against Raith Rovers.
He came on as a substitute in the final 10 minutes, and many fans believe that it was the debut appearance of a player who can go all the way to the top of the game.
The 17-year-old midfielder is held in extremely high regard, and it is clear that he is already too good for the development squad.
He is likely to spend the rest of the season in the Rangers first-team, and Mark Warburton will be hoping the youngster’s impact grows as the campaign heads into its final stages.
There are high hopes for Burt at Ibrox, and his reputation has seen him linked with a move away from Rangers.
The Scottish Sun reported that Celtic want to sign Burt to a professional contract, but the youngster has made it clear that staying with Rangers is all he wants.
