Leeds United supporters have reacted with cynicism after Massimo Cellino promised to invest in the summer, during an interview with Sky Sports News yesterday.
Cellino claimed that he would be putting money into Leeds during the next transfer window, to ensure that the quality of their squad improves.
However, Whites fans are fed up of broken promises from their owner, and have suggested that Cellino won’t actually inject funds into the team.
The Italian owner’s comments come after Leeds were beaten 4-0 by Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday evening.
The performance exposed just how far Leeds are away from creating a squad which is capable of making a run into the Championship promotion spaces and created anger amongst the club’s fan base.
Steve Evans has categorically stated that if he is backed he will take Leeds into the Premier League, but it remains to be seen whether he will be given money to spend in the transfer window.
So far Evans has made just three signings at Leeds, and Toumani Diagouraga is the only player to have joined the Yorkshire side permanently.
Here is the best reaction from Leeds fans to Cellino’s promise of transfer funds.
