Paul Ince believes Tottenham striker's protective mask is inadequate.
Harry Kane has been dealing with the effects of a broken nose suffered against Crystal Palace.
He missed the Europa League game against Fiorentina, and fans jokingly speculated he could wear a WWE style mask like his 'sports-entertainment' namesake.
Instead they were let down and commented at the weekend that his protective mask was a bit lame, and not even as 'cool' as the Zorro-style masks worn by Chelsea players, and most recently Diego Costa.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I don't know why he would bother. If he takes an elbow to the face, that mask would do absolutely nothing."
We will bow to the expertise of the Tottenham medical staff on this one, especially if it gives Kane the confidence to play and go in for aerial battles, but it does not look like the sturdiest of masks.
If Kane did re-injure himself and ended up missing subsequent games then it would be a bigger worry, but fans should cross their fingers their top scorer is nearly back to full health.
