Craig Bellamy rates West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell highly

Craig Bellamy also rates West Ham United defender Sam Byram highly.

Craig Bellamy spoke highly of West Ham United duo Aaron Cresswell and Sam Byram on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday morning (broadcast from 11:00am, February 28).

The former West Ham forward said that left-back Cresswell is a steal, and also claimed that right-back Byram has been a good signing for the London club.

“Cresswell is a steal,” said Bellamy. “He has been a really good over the last couple of seasons he has been there. Byram is a good signing as well. They (West Ham) have just been clever.”

Cresswell joined West Ham from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2014 and has a contract until June 2020.

The 26-year-old is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League and is one of the first names on the Hammers’ team sheet when fit.

The former Tranmere Rovers man has scored one goal and created 31 chances in 26 league matches so far this season.

Cresswell has a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 42%, and has won 26 headers, eight dribbles and 17 tackles.

Sam Byram

Byram joined West Ham from Championship side Leeds United in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old right-back, who can also play as a right-winger, arrived at the Hammers with the reputation of being one of the best young players in the Championship.

The youngster has created two chances in four Premier League appearances for West Ham. Byram has a pass accuracy of 74%, and has won three headers and four tackles.
