Confirmed: Stoke and Newcastle line-ups

Stoke Britannia Stadium

Here is how Stoke City and Newcastle United will line up this evening:

Stoke City welcome Newcastle United to the Britannia Stadium tonight with the visitors desperate to get another three points on the board.

Newcastle have had a long time to wait to respond to their 5-1 hammering against Chelsea last month, but they now get that chance with a tough encounter with Mark Hughes’ men.

The Magpies are currently 19th in the Premier League with the two sides directly above them, Norwich City and Sunderland, also on 24 points.

Three points better off as things stand are Swansea City and it is sure to be a very exciting – and nerve-wracking – end to the season in terms of the relegation battle.

Stoke have no such worries and are currently ninth with 39 points from 27 matches, so the prospect of a top-half finish is certainly possible.

The Potters are unbeaten in their last four league encounters with Newcastle so it will take a fine effort from Steve McClaren’s side to win at a notoriously tough ground.
