Leeds United suffered a 4-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Championship on Monday.

Leeds United chairman Massimo Cellino has told Sky Sports that he did not speak to Steve Evans after the team’s defeat on Monday evening.

The West Yorkshire outfit suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion away from home at the American Express Community Stadium in the Championship.

The game was over as a contest after just 38 minutes when hosts Brighton went 4-0 up.

Cellino has revealed that he did not speak to Evans after the loss, and has also said that he is embarrassed for the Leeds fans.

“We have five players out and I didn't speak with him after the game because we were both very disappointed and very embarrassed about what happened, but it is not just because of the coach,” the Leeds chairman told Sky Sports.

"I am very embarrassed for the supporters because they really are better than this team. That is the only thing I can say.”

Leeds are 18th in the Championship table at the moment with 38 points from 33 matches.

The Whites are just nine points above the relegation zone, but they do have a game in hand.

The West Yorkshire outfit are in danger of getting dragged into a relegation fight, but they do have a team strong enough to finish above the bottom three.

Leeds will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road in the Championship.
