Bragging rights were up for grabs for each set of supporters, but the triumph for the Cherries has moved them closer to surviving in their debut campaign in the Premier League.
Cook opened the scoring at the Vitality Stadium as Bournemouth controlled much of the play against a team who began the night 11 points above them in the table, before Benik Afobe struck late on to seal the three points.
The win for Eddie Howe's men have taken them eight points clear of the relegation zone, and two of their performers on the evening were quick to take to social media after the contest.
Huge win tonight! Lads were outstanding!— Steve Cook (@SteveCook28) March 1, 2016
Grabban, who featured for the final 20 minutes, and fellow striker Wilson, who is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury, also had their say on Twitter.
Great win last night.— Lewis Grabban (@grabbs22) March 2, 2016

Bournemouth are next in action when they make the long trip up to the North-East to face Newcastle United at St James' Park.
Two wins are likely to be enough for Bournemouth to remain in the top flight, and they will strike a further blow if they can beat one of the teams towards the bottom of the division.
