Aston Villa legend Ian Taylor uses grim weather to sum up club's woeful form

Villa were beaten 3-1 by Everton yesterday.

Aston Villa's shocking season continued this week as Everton romped to a 3-1 win against the basement club at Villa Park last night.

Rudy Gestede's consolation header did not distract from a poor and inept performance from Villa - who are now doomed to Championship football next season.

It was a game that also saw a mass walkout from Villa fans in the 74th minute, as their disappointment with the running of the club continues.

It was once again horrid viewing for anyone who loves the club - such as club legend Ian Taylor.

Taylor was with Villa for nine years as a player, making nearly 300 appearances for the club and scoring 45 goals, before heading to Derby County in 2003.

He has been a vocal critic of the club on Twitter but this morning summed it up perfectly with what appeared to be a weather-based link:

The weather is certainly overcast and gloomy at the moment and that certainly sums up the feeling at Villa Park at the moment.

When will the sun break through? It does not look likely to be anytime soon.
