Wolves, Stoke, Bournemouth, Reading interested in Swindon Town goalkeeping prospect Connor Johns

Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City, Bournemouth, and Reading are all interested in exciting Swindon Town goalkeeping prospect Connor Johns.

Promising Swindon Town youth goalkeeper Connor Johns is wanted by four clubs, HITC Sport understands.

HITC Sport understands from sources close to the situation that Premier League sides Bournemouth and Stoke City are interested, along with Championship duo Reading and Wolves.

Johns, 17, is still to make his professional debut, but is already third choice at the club and has been named on the bench recently amid an injuries.

The stopper turns 18 in June and was first named on the bench last season at just 16, and Swindon boss Luke Williams is understood to have no hesitation in playing him if an injury crisis laid out the club's first two goalkeepers Lawrence Vigouroux and Tyrell Belford.

Johns is a local lad and is the sort of talent the Robins will be desperate to hold onto despite the interest of sides above them in the league ladder.

Former boss Mark Cooper told FlicWiltshire last year that Johns was highly regarded by his goalkeeping coaches and had impressed in training sessions with the first team.
