The fierce London rivals clash for the last ever time at the Boleyn Ground on Wednesday night and both have lofty ambitions.
West Ham fans will be left wondering what might have been had they not suffered a glut of injuries which denied them of seven key first team players at the same time in November and December.
During that period the club struggled for goals and wins with the likes of Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini and Diafra Sakho all out injured.
And all three should be in the squad to face Spurs at Upton Park after West Ham teased some video footage of goal hero Sakho back doing what he does best in training.
Hammers have missed Sak-goal
The Senegal star has been a huge miss for Slaven Bilic for the last three months after tearing his thigh muscle.
That was evident as the Hammers struggled to finish off Sunderland at the weekend and almost allowed Sam Allardyce's side back into a game which should have been out of sight.
Sakho has carved out a reputation as a deadly goalscorer for the Hammers but has spent much of his time in East London in the treatment room.
He escaped unhurt after a crash in his Lamborghini sports car, as reported by the likes of the Daily Mail.
The striker was expected back by mid-February but the signing of fellow African Emmanuel Emenike has meant he has not had to be rushed back into action.
Back to his best
He looks back to his best, though, if the training footage posted on West Ham's official Twitter account is anything to go by.
The club's media team asked fans 'Missed this?' accompanied by a video of Sakho curling a sumptuous strike around Alex Song and into the top corner ahead of Wednesday's crunch clash.
