Sam Allardyce outlines how he will celebrate if Sunderland stay up

Sam Allardyce Press Conference 12/02/2014

Sunderland are struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment.

Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce revealed on the Football Tonight show on BT Sport Europe at the weekend (broadcast at 6am, Saturday, February 27) how he would celebrate if his side stayed up.

“Take a very nice holiday in Spain and sip a few bottles of champagne,” said Allardyce when asked how he would celebrate if the Black Cats avoid relegation to the Championship at the end of the season.

Sunderland are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Black Cats are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 23 points from 27 matches.

Allardyce’s side are just a point behind 17th-placed Norwich City, but they have a lot of work to do before they can consider themselves safe.

Sunderland lost to West Ham United at the weekend, but they do have a good chance of bouncing back on Tuesday evening.

The Black Cats will host Crystal Palace at the Stadium of Light, and with the Eagles struggling at the moment, Allardyce will be determined to guide his side to victory in the Premier League encounter.

A win would give Sunderland back-to-back league wins at home for the first time since May 2014.
