Robbie Savage said on the BBC Radio 5 live 606 show last Saturday evening (February 27) that Derby County should be getting promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.
The former Wales international also said that he does not know what the ‘Derby way’ is.
“They should be going up with the money spent, no question about it,” said the former Derby midfielder. “I still don’t know what the Derby way is.”
Savage made the comments following yet another defeat for Derby in the Championship.
The Rams went down 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home at Molineux on Saturday afternoon.
The loss means that Derby remain in the playoffs, but there is a danger that they could finish outside the top six.
Derby are fifth in the Championship table at the moment with 57 points from 34 matches.
The Rams are as many as eight points behind leaders Burnley and seven behind second-placed Hull City, who have a game in hand.
It seems that Derby’s chances of automatic promotion are gone, but they should still finish in the playoffs.
