Predicted Newcastle line-up to play Stoke: Three changes from McClaren

Stoke Britannia Stadium

Here he is how we predict Newcastle United and Stoke City will line up this week:

To be played on Wednesday 2nd March 2016 at 19:45. Venue: Britannia Stadium, Stoke

Odds: Stoke 10/11, Draw 5/2, Newcastle 16/5

Newcastle United travel to the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday evening to take on Stoke City in their latest Premier League clash.

The Magpies are currently 18th in the table, below Norwich City only on goal-difference and with a game in hand over the Canaries.

Steve McClaren’s side have had plenty of time to reflect on their 5-1 hammering at the hands of Chelsea last month and they now have the chance to put that defeat to bed.

Stoke will not be easy opponents, however, and Mark Hughes’ side are eighth in the table with an outside chance of qualifying for Europe next season.

In early team news, Stoke must do without Shay Given, Glen Johnson, Ryan Shawcross, Marc Muniesa, Marc Wilson and Charlie Adam due to injury.

Newcastle cannot call on Tim Krul, Chancel Mbemba, Massadio Haidara, Gabriel Obertan or Ivan Toney while Aleksandar Mitrovic is rated at 50/50 to recover from a knee problem.

Fabricio Coloccini, Vurnon Anita, Siem de Jong and Papiss Cisse are all rated at 75 per cent to be available if called upon.
