Liverpool and Manchester City go head-to-head this week.
Liverpool’s players have been photographed being put through their paces in training ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester City on Wednesday evening.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will be seeking swift revenge after losing on penalties to the Blues in the Capital One Cup final on Sunday, and considering the reverse fixture that is a distinct possibility.
Liverpool won that one 4-1 with their forwards running amok around a shell-shocked City defence. However Manuel Pellegrini’s side will be a different proposition this time out and the match could go either way.
Liverpool are currently ninth in the table with 38 points from 26 matches while City are fourth and will not want to fall further behind in the title race, especially with Manchester United breathing down their necks in the chase for the final Champions League qualifying spot.
Among those Liverpool players training this week were exciting youngsters Brad Smith and Jordon Ibe and the now fully-fit Jon Flanagan.
The latter is yet to feature in the league this season but he has spent the last four matches on the bench so could be in line for some minutes against City depending on how things play out.
