The Canaries slipped into the relegation zone with a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Tuesday night, and there was a mixed reaction from fans on Twitter.
Things got off to the worst possible start for the Canaries when they fell behind after only 39 seconds when Kenedy scored the fastest goal of the season.
The game's biggest talking point came on the stroke of half time, when Diego Costa doubled the lead from an offside position to double the deficit.
Cameron Jerome hit the bar as Alex Neil's side looked for a route back into the match after the break, and they did give themselves hope with a Nathan Redmond goal midway through the second half.
However, that proved to be only a consolation as Norwich's winless run was extended to eight matches, and the East Anglia club's latest defeat, couple with Sunderland's late equaliser against Crystal Palace sees them move into the relegation zone with just 10 matches remaining.
After the match, the reaction from Canaries fans on Twitter was mixed, with many unsurprisingly centring their attention around the incident on the stroke of half time.
Referee Lee Mason was the man to come in for most criticism after he and his assistants failed to spot Costa's offside position for the second goal.
Other fans chose instead to highlight the spirited performance from the Canaries, particularly in the second half, and show their appreciation of their team's efforts after falling behind so early on.
We played well. You just don't get the luck at the bottom. Deserved more but proud of #ncfc tonight.— HelenMarie21 (@HelenMarie21) March 1, 2016
officials dodgy decision cost us some well deserved points today after that valiant effort #ncfc— Sophie (@sophxhall) March 1, 2016
Redmond has to do that every game now #NCFC two real tough results to take but performances are picking up at a crucial time, keeping faith!— James Wegg (@Weggy_1990) March 1, 2016
Not all fans shared that view however, with the cold, hard reality of potential relegation beginning to set in.
I know the officials were appalling but it was our lapse defending yet again in 1st minute which has put us straight on the back foot. #ncfc— Jimmy Long (@Jim_Long_03) March 1, 2016
Game already beyond us before we start playing again. Yes it was a decent performance second half, but pointless when already 0-2 down #ncfc— Natalie Wright (@nwright_12) March 1, 2016
Sick of constantly hearing 'we deserved more' from #NCFC fans. 1 point from 8 games is abysmal, regardless of how well you play.— Josh Lewer (@JoshLeweeer) March 1, 2016
If we go down, let's go down because we're not good enough. Not because the referees can't do their job properly. Infuriating #ncfc— Michael Garwood (@E16Canary) March 1, 2016
