Everton will take on Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League in a few hours’ time.
Owen believes that the Villans are set for relegation to the Championship at the end of the season.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United striker has also backed the Toffees to pick up all three points this evening.
“For a team of Everton’s ability it is difficult to comprehend that they have only won three of their last 13 PL games,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.
“They have just come back from a week away in Dubai and will be keen to pick up all three points against a Villa side who have lost four of their last five and will undoubtedly be playing Championship football next term.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Everton at 4/5.”
Villa are struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment, and it does look very likely that they will go down.
However, it would not be wise to write off Remi Garde’s side’s chances of winning this evening.
Although Everton are a better team, Villa are at home and that will give them some advantage.
Moreover, the Villa players will also be looking to give their fans something to cheer about.
The first goal will be key. If Everton get it, then Villa will lose - but if the home team score first, then they should be able to at least earn a draw.
