Jamie Redknapp names two players Saido Berahino should look to emulate

The West Bromwich Albion striker should look at Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy, says Jamie Redknapp.

Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp has written in The Daily Mail that West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino should look to emulate Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Kane and Vardy of Leicester are two of the best strikers in the Premier League at the moment.

Redknapp believes that Berahino should look at them and work hard like they do.

“Berahino only has to look at Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane to see the benefits of hard work,” the former England international wrote in The Daily Mail.

“He has the ability, he just needs to match it with effort. It may take an injury to someone for him to get his England chance but keep this up and he could give Roy Hodgson a selection headache.”

Redknapp made the comments following West Brom’s 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace at home at the weekend.

Berahino played well in the Premier League game at The Hawthorns on Saturday evening and was among the goalscorers.

The 22-year-old striker looks like he is getting close to his best, and West Brom fans will hope that he continues to improve.

The former England Under-21 international is a good striker, but for most of the season he has been in largely disappointing form.

Berahino has scored four goals and created eight chances in 22 Premier League appearances so far this campaign.
