The 24-year-old former Caen midfielder suffered the injury during the Foxes’ 1-0 victory over Norwich City at the King Power Stadium in the league at the weekend.
Former Leicester striker Lineker believes that the absence of Kante is a huge loss for Claudio Ranieri’s side.
Good news: just discovered Leicester v West Brom is on telly in South Africa. Bad news: just discovered Kante is out. Huge loss!— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) March 1, 2016
Meanwhile, former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has backed Leicester to pick up all three points against West Brom.
“After the win over Palace at the weekend the Baggies have now won back-to-back in the PL but they will do well to land the hat-trick against the league leaders and title favourites (7/4 at BetVictor),” Owen wrote on betvictor.com.
“The Foxes have now gone 463 minutes since they last conceded at the King Power Stadium and I think they can grind out another win.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Leicester to win to nil at 31/20.”
West Brom are 13th in the Premier League table at the moment with 35 points from 26 matches.
The Baggies are not entirely out of danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, but back-to-back wins in the league have enhanced their chances of survival.
