Goldman professional said placed on leave

Luke Thorburn, the only Goldman Sachs employee who donated to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in the second half of last year, has been placed on administrative leave, according to a person with knowledge of the decision.

Bloomberg News reports that his name is on a recent application to trademark “Make Christianity Great Again,” federal records show.

Red and blue hats with that slogan, a devout version of Trump’s “Make America Great Again,” are being sold online for $19.99 each. When Goldman Sachs asked Thorburn about the endeavor, after he and the bank were included in a New York Times article last week about Trump, his answers were inconsistent, said the person, who asked not to be identified discussing personnel.

The newspaper reported on his leave earlier Monday.
