Former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur attacker David Ginola said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show last Friday morning (February 26) that Leicester City will face a major problem in their bid to win the Premier League title this season.
“Probably the problem this season for Leicester will be the lack of experience of being at the top and how to manage the situation when you are right there at the top because the pressure is on you,” said Ginola.
“Obviously now you are seen as a team in real contention to win the league, and this is probably the biggest problem for Ranieri and his men is about how to deal with it.”
Leicester are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment and have a genuine change of winning the tile.
While Ginola does have a point about Claudio Ranieri’s side being under pressure, it must also be remembered that the Foxes appear to be enjoying their current position.
A day after the former Newcastle star shared his concern about Leicester’s title chances, the Foxes got the better of Norwich City 1-0 at home.
It was not the most convincing of victories for Ranieri’s side, but the fact that they continued to push until the very end suggests that they are ready for the challenge.
Leicester will return to action this evening when they take on West Bromwich Albion at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League.
