Christian Eriksen has confirmed to The Sun that his contract at Tottenham Hotspur is ‘on it’s way’.
Rumours started circulating that Eriksen was about to sign a new deal at Spurs last week, but so far no news has been announced.
Some fears have started to arise that talks have broken down between Tottenham and the attacking midfielder.
However, Eriksen insists that the situation has not changed, and that he will be penning a new deal in the coming weeks.
“Nothing has changed with the contract situation,” the Danish international said. “It is still the same, it is on its way.”
Eriksen has two and a half years left on his current deal at White Hart Lane, and he is set to be rewarded for his fine form.
The attacking midfielder is one of Spurs’ key creators, and Mauricio Pochettino is keen to keep him around.
Eriksen has played 35 times for Spurs this season, and he has managed to score on seven occasions.
Eriksen will now be hoping to continue to play a key role, as Spurs look to win the Premier League title.
The Lilywhites are currently only two points behind league leaders Leicester City, with Pochettino’s side’s next two matches coming against West Ham United and Arsenal.
